Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. At the age five she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she attended the Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. When she was six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes in acting, singing and dancing. As part of a school production and a Stagecoach show, she took her role as lead actress at 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents via her Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been picked for these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The film beat all previous records on the opening weekend and revenues, and was the top-grossing 2001 film. Reviewers were awed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British paper, praised her for her performance. Emma's performance received nominations and was awarded five awards in the film.
